Renting a Méhari for fishing was a great experience, with 3.5 hours of driving fun. Visiting Royan, Saint Palais-sur-Mer, Vaux-sur-Mer, and La Palmyre in the very fresh air (much better than in a regular car).
If you're hesitant to take the plunge, you can go for it with your eyes closed.
